Hybrid Work Can “Work” for Your Organization: Here’s How
Dana Rabinowitz

Hybrid work arrangements are often discussed as “employee friendly” policies but the reality is that hybrid work arrangements can also “work” for employers.

From increased innovation to stronger retention to the ability to recruit top talent located outside of a typically commutable area, here are some of the most impactful benefits of hybrid work arrangements for organizations.

  • Enhanced creativity and innovation: leveraging both remote work, typically more focused, independent work, and in-office work with teammates can stimulate innovation, spontaneous conversations and brainstorming, keeping employees energized and feeling creative.
  • Improved employee retention and recruitment: hybrid work is attractive to many different types of employees who value and/or need flexibility but also want facetime with teammates.
  • Ability to hire more diverse top talent: hybrid work arrangements allow employers to hire top talent who might not live within a typically commutable distance. Employees who may live outside of a typically commutable distance may be willing to commute further if mixed with the flexibility of remote workdays.
  • Stronger employee-to-employee relationships: employees can easily cross-collaborate across teams and departments, leveraging both remote and in-person experiences to grow their network and build relationships to foster community across the organization.
  • Clear team communication: teams can leverage face-to-face interactions to reduce miscommunication and build stronger relationships within the team.
  • Agility during disruptions: hybrid work arrangements help organizations remain flexible and productive during disruptions such as inclement weather, planned construction, or other unforeseen challenges.
  • Cost savings: in some cases, organizations can reduce overhead costs by downsizing or changing office space and decreasing on-site expenses like utilities, supplies, and amenities.
