​Industry veteran Dana Rabinowitz recently joined Andrews and Cole to expand its National Sales, Marketing and Operations Search practice. With 20+ years of experience, Dana bring deep expertise, knowledge, and most importantly, humor to her role as Director of Business Development & Market Leader. 

Andrews & Cole President Nicole DelToro sat down with Dana to learn more about her career journey and what she’s most excited about as she embarks on this new chapter in her career. 

What’s your recruiting superpower?
I have a natural ability to make people feel at ease right from the start, allowing them to open up so I can understand what is most important to them. This inside knowledge is crucial in understanding their needs and helps me help them in the best way. 

What’s your favorite productivity hack?
I swear by time blocking! Focusing on one task at a time helps me stay organized, but I always keep in mind that I might need to pivot when necessary. After each time block, I take a quick five-minute break to refresh my mind. This technique allows me to come back focused and ready to tackle the next challenge.

How would you describe Andrews & Cole in three words?
Collaborative, growth-oriented, and supportive. 

What’s your favorite thing about working at Andrews & Cole?
The potential for success is limitless here! I love that there’s no ceiling to what I can achieve, and I appreciate the support that enables me to strive for my goals.

What types of positions do you enjoy recruiting for the most?
Operations roles. They are so cool because they offer a unique insight into an organization’s inner workings, and you can really get to know the organization when digging into these searches. Over the years, I’ve worked across a diverse set of companies and industries, each presenting its own set of challenges and learning opportunities.

How did you get into recruiting for sales, marketing, and operations?
I’m an accountant by training, so for the first 16-17 years of my recruiting career, I specialized in accounting and finance. An opportunity popped up to work on sales, marketing, and operations on a national basis; I jumped at the chance and honestly never looked back! For many of the searches I work on, I need to understand how companies operate from a financial perspective, so my accounting training and experience working on accounting and finance positions helps me understand what my clients really need.

What’s on your bucket list for travel or your favorite vacation destination?
One of my ultimate bucket list trips is to go on an archaeological dig—how incredible would it be to uncover history? I only started traveling a lot a few years ago, but I've already explored places like Israel and Iceland. I make it a point to visit a new international destination every summer!
